East ridge of Cerro Huancapeti from the north | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |
At first, I thought that the summit of Huancapeti was somewhere on this ridge. Well, I wanted to find the highest point, so I started by making my way up the talus on the gentle slope to the right. Higher up, I could see that this ridge did not lead to the true summit; there was a clearly higher one further to the west (to the right of this picture). However, the ridge looked interesting, so I left my pack at the saddle and scrambled along it. It was fun! However, I didn't climb the highest point on the ridge, an exposed 3m high rock: ![]() 25 July 2011. | Image Type(s): Rock Climbing, Scenery, Panorama |
