| I got a good early alpine start for this one from my camp on the Pass. I probably started a bit too early, as I felt compelled to take a little nap amongst the rocks once I made it to the lower reaches of the Pyramid. A little Lego man in the summit cairn was my only company on the top. After descending the Pyramid, I hiked over to the Window for a special San Juan viewing session from a very lonely and dramatic place. | |

| climbed this with my friend Mark. We found lots of snow in sections, bare trail in others. Had a nice cloudy experience on the summit but overall a great trip. One section of the ridge, maybe 300' below the summit, was rock hard snow that deserved crampons and ice axe for safety. Be prepared for the severely horse-trampled approach from Rio Grande reservoir. | |
