Lotsa Stuff  Sucess!

Really went nuts with solo trips with Eastern Sierra peaks in 2005, but have poked around back there since 2003....yeah, I'm a boot. Feels like home!
Great page Matthew.

Grew up in Bishop  Sucess!

We lived up near South Lake along Bishop Creek when I was very young, just a mile or two from the John Muir Wilderness. The mountains and towns of the Eastern Sierra provided the backdrop to my life growing up. Have been back many times since and have hiked many of the trails on the east side.

395...good road  Sucess!

Did Whitney in August of 2005. The Owens Valley is a beautiful place and I hope to climb out here many more times in the future.

First Visit  Sucess!

Had my first visit to the wonderful Eastern Sierra Nevada. Drove over Sonora Pass, down 395 to Lone Pine. What an awesome drive, the mountains are absolutely GORGEOUS along the way.

Thanks for this great report, I've taken lots of cues on making the most of my visit to the Eastern Sierra using this page!

395..  Sucess!

Went though this area on a geologic field trip with my class. I ended up coming back to this area many times to hike around, it is a wonderful place.

Route Climbed: Well it wasn't really climbed, more like driven. But the route driven was Highway 395. Date Climbed: Pick nearly any weekend in August that I haven't been here...  Sucess!

Well since I'm the first person to have summated the Eastern Sierra Logistical Center I would like to take this opportunity to thank some of the people who helped me along the way.

First off I want to thank my father for getting me interested in the outdoors and more specifically backpacking. Second I would like to thank Boy Scout Troop 93 from Fullerton, California for facilitating all of my trips to the wonderful Eastern Sierras. And finally I would like to thank The Pizza Factory for making amazing pizzas that will always be able to get me out of the mountains and into their restaurants, because "They Toss 'em and They're Awesome!"

I really do enjoy this site and am immensely grateful for all of the wonderful and informative information that they have here on SummitPost.org, especially the information on the Eastern Sierras. I can never say enough great things about the Eastern Sierras because there just isn't a place quite like them anywhere in the world.

Thank You SP!
