This fallen cedar was on the trail up to Lone Pine Peak, in the Eastern Sierras. The drier and hotter Owens Valley can be seen between the Sierras and the Inyo Mountains.

Thanks for pointing that out! I made the correction, White mountain is back there somewhere but those are the Inyo Mountains.

Yeah, the Whites are basically the same range north of Westgard Pass which is east of Big Pine.
