Edds - west slope III

A little higher up on the west slope, eventually leaving the snags and windfall behind. But now the snowcover had arrived, and unconsolidated snow it was at that. What is it about Okanogan snow not consolidating? When I climbed Mt. Bonaparte (the peak in the far distance at upper left) in 2005, I encountered the same thing: hip-deep unsolidated muck in mid-May.
