The ascent along the northern ridge of Zenser Spitze is by far the most demanding of the ascent routes. It first climbs very steeply through a forest starting at the village of Hollbruck and ending at the Eggwiesen meadow (2100m). You won't see any views until you reach the meadows since the forest is very thick. From there on the trail (marked 15) leads over grassy terrain in the direction of Zenzerspitze behind which you will be able to see Hollbrucker Spitze on the Carnic Alps Main Ridge.
Just before you reach the summit block the trail splits in two. The left (eastern) one leads around the summit towards Hollbrucker Spitze. Take this trail to climb the summit from the southern side. Trail two on the western side scrambles through some undergrowth directly to the summit. It is here that you can encounter the WW I position carved out of the rock.
Essential GearHiking gear is sufficient.
