Eiger NE face is longer than...

Eiger NE face is longer than Nordwand with the same difficulty, and was climbed earlier, in August 1932. This photo, taken in Holly Week of 1993, shows Lauper Route (1.800 m, ED) and the direct variant of Friedli and Homberger (left). Upper part of Mittellegigrat comes from the left to the summit. Note the paragliding competition over the meadows of Grindelwald.
