Re: Nice light!Thanks, Jack. I certainly appreciate that given the quality of your own photos. The rest of the day was terrible, storms and heavy wind almost constantly. We had to go spend most of it at Carlsbad Caverns.

Pure limestone?Probably, but in a picture I saw somewhere (not here) I'm quite positive the characteristic glint of feldspar caught my eye. Maybe you can settle the matter as you have written an exceptionally frank article. Wonderful pictures too. Great job.

Re: Pure limestone?Sorry Bob, you're right, I guess I'll ask Sarah unless you have an idea. Feldspar can be deceptive. Mimics qualities of other mineral based rock, just not commonly a mineral we mention in casual conversation.
