Hi Gremo, Nadios and Corax.
great shot from an seldom reached corner of El Arenal.

John Biggar gives for the Volcano del Viento an altitude of 6028m. But I also do not know the exact altitude of Olmedo. From the German Alpin Club map its also over 6200m. Where did you get this name from? I have never seen a name for this subsummit of Walter Penck. Did Jonson tell you this name? Is this peak already climbed?

I will change the altitude on del Viento.
An Argentinian climber (and SPmember), Horacio told me the altitude of Olmedo is 6250m. He also told me about the origin of the name. It was named after the first climber reaching the summit of the peak. Santiago Olmedo, a horseman locally famous for his knowledge about horses climbed the peak a long time ago (not sure when). He is now 89 years old and lives in Fiambalà. Jonson confirmed the name.
Janne (Corax) climbed the peak and said the prominence from the lowest point of the saddle was about 300m. Not qualified for Biggar's list.
Janne may later submit pages about Olmedo and del Viento.

PS. Horacio's driving license can be found on the summit of Olmedo! He had no other way to prove he had climbed the mountain.
