Emmons-Winthrop

The Emmons-Winthrop glaciers looking on from near camp Curtis. The crevasses are very open and the upper part of the route wanders quite a bit. July 25, 2008.

Hello SD-Ken !

Yes, I see the climbers. What is the 'haze' I'm
looking through? Is that the typical NW weather, mixed with some smoke? Talk about
some gaping crevasses - that's truly awesome!!

Re: Hello SD-Ken !

From what I can tell seems to be the typical weather. There was a lenticular cloud on the mountain when we got there and when we left it was raining. We were really lucky to get a clear summit day.

Re: Hello SD-Ken !

Thanks. You were also skillful enough to find
your way through that 'crevasse field.' These
are the forces of Nature at their best! Awesome
moment captured on The Mountain.
