Eric Hoffman inspects the 5.6 dihedral that completes the SW Gully-Upper South Ridge Route. We had brought no pro and I wasn't willing to lead without it (note the WILD exposure to the right if you should fall...the slab slants that way!). Fortunately, two other climbers were coming up behind us. They had the pro. They were nice enough to trail our 30m rope up behind them. August 17, 2003.
