The blue berries at left aren't blueberries, they're Bluebead Lilies (Clintonia Borealis) and they're not edible.
Actual blueberries dangle close under woody branches with oval leaves; clintonia berries sit atop long stalks sticking up from the ground between long, vaselike leaves. (A few clintonia leaves are visible but most are hidden under the ferns in this shot)
