Eureka!I really love walking on sand dunes, and so did my dog, so we headed up to the top for sunset. Nobody around. Fun stuff!

Traverse:-)Lisa and I traversed all the high points on a unique day with snow on the north points. Fascinating.

6 days in the desertI have wanted to visit this remote area for many years! Finally I had the time and the resources. Heather and I hiked to the 3 highest points on the dunes and measured them with the GPS to determine which is highest. Other things we did on this trip include Ord, Sandy Point, Last Chance, Chocolate, Towne BM, Tucki, and Ibex Dunes HP.

nighttime summitwith a full moon i trudged to the top at midnight! and then ran/slalomed back down.

No windBeen here a few times but this was the only visit where I was able to walk the crest of the dunes since it wasn't windy. What an awesome experience.

twice with my daugherI've topped the highest dunes twice with my daugher- first time she was 2 (Jan 2010), second time she was 3 (April 2011). Next time we spend the night there, I'm going to head up some of the named peaks in the Last Chance Range overlooking the dunes...so far I've just hiked to the point west of the Crater at above 5,000 feet.
