Eureka, the

Eureka, the "T" and Mt. Nebo

Mt. Nebo dominates the eastern skyline in this pic and Pinyon Peak is below it (a fun little hike in its own right). You might be able to see the "T"on the hillside that is to the left of Massive Peak and it stands for Tintic and is whitewashed onto the hillside just above the Eureka area. 10-2-07

Yes ,Dean ...

I remember driving through Eureka, the last time I visited my folks. I'm always impressed by Mt. Nebo - looks like it needs more snow!!!

On my "highest score" page, the Colorado River is catching up to my BEAR photo. Hey, MAYBE the bear will DROWN in the river. (That would make the Sierra Club happy ... I guess.) Thanks!

You forgot to mention all the mining activity. EUREKA! The scenery is GOLDEN!

Re: Yes ,Dean ...

Mt. Nebo does have a lot more snow on it now, thanks to 2 good storms that have come through the area. It is very pretty right now. Bears can swim so most likely yours won't drown.

As far as Eureka is concerned, I should mention the mining aspect of the town. I think it mined more silver than gold so it would be silvery scenery, not golden. ; )

I often ...

get gold & silver mixed up. That's what happens when you don't have enough of them. EXCEPT in the sunrises, sunsets & images on Summitpost! Take care -looks like the bear is ahead again!
