Excited to finally be on her way to the summit, Deb takes it all in; including the views of Bear Creek Spire.

Voted 10/10 | I have a quick question. Is a traverse between Peppermint and Bear Creek Spire feasible? It seems pretty hairy in this photo.

Hasn't voted | To answer your question.....yes. If you reference the Secor guidebook, he describes accessing a col between the two peaks from the north by climbing a 5.6 chimney. Looks ugly from what I saw! However, you can come in from the south (use Pine Creek trailhead) and head up to Peppermint via talus field. Head to the col and then traverse to the southeast. Secor seems to think that from the col to Peppermint's summit is 3rd class. Not! Lots of exposed and somewhat loose 4th class. | | Posted Mar 23, 2009 2:07 pm |
