Deep within the Fiery Furnace, a guided group enters an amphitheater beneath Surprise Arch. The smallest arch in Arches National Park measures three feet from base to base, and is also located in this cavernous locale, but you need to keep a sharp eye out for it! It's called "Porkchop Arch." You must get a reservation for a guided tour (highly recommended), or a permit from the Visitor Center to enter the Furnace on your own. Be advised that unguided people get lost and stranded in the Furnace and are routinely rescued. The Furnace is very complex, and defies accurate mapping.
