Fire Canyon Festivus

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Fire Canyon Festivus
DB and CP climb a short section during the first day of Festivus, 2008. This photo was actually taken in a canyon leading to the north side of the complex, directly overlooking the Valley of Fire. Unfortunately, the catclaw bushes eventually deflated the balloons.

The poles were left inside the cairns by surveyors from long ago. Fortunately, we didn't have to wrestle each other to leave.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."   --Calvin Coolidge
