First glimpse of the Hyas Creek Glacier Basin

First glimpse of the Hyas Creek Glacier Basin
This is the first sight upon gaining the lower basin above the Hump. It really does look other-worldly when you're there in the middle of it. Notice the smooth wall up ahead with a small waterfall coming down the middle of it. This is the rather "mundane-looking" 100-200 foot wall that you need to get above to reach the upper basin and the Hyas Creek Glacier remnants - 8/31/2008.
