First Light-Spearhead

Spearhead Basin, an unbelievably gorgeous place, even in dead winter. Sunrise never happened this morning due to an easy snowstorm that generated from Longs Peak. So I slept for two hours under a huge boulder, and woke up to the sun trying its best to break into Glacier Gorge.

I've seen this photo many times now (here and on your website), and I'm always amazed my the technical mastery that is displayed. Is this a straight shot, or did you use HDR? Love the lighting and texture!
