Early on the ascent up the Black Cloud Trail on the way to Mount Elbert, this was our first open view. La Plata peak is crowned in a ring of clouds and the late August snowfall is visible on her upper slopes, along with a beautiful shot of La Plata's Elllingwood Ridge.
