Flooded Vernal Falls

A hiker in the rain adds some scale to an overflowing Vernal Falls during the 10 year flood of May 16, 2005. Note how far into the trees the Merced River has reached. Most of the meadows in the valley were under a 1-2 feet of water and the roads in and out were impassable until late in the day.

	Hasn't voted	It definitely got the adrenaline going Bob! The Mist Trail leads up to the falls from below, and it was anything put misty... it was as though a fire hose was blowing upwards into our face as we approached the falls.
