| Part of a dayhike starting from Mineral King that included Vandever Mountain. The climb up from Bullfrog Lakes is really sandy in between the large boulders. Descended down to Franklin Pass and back to MK. | |

| Climbed from camp at 9450' in Farewell Valley. Intermittent snow led to Franklin Lakes, then almost solid snow to the summit. Skied from a little below the summit. Beautiful views to the Whitney group and Kaweahs. | |

| Climbed with Susan Stubblefield (wife #1) while on a backpack loop through Mineral King area (back when Walt Disney was still trying to turn MK into a ski resort!). Also climbed Mt. Florence in Yosemite in July, 1971 while working at Merced Lake HSC...(that peak appears to have no section on this site!) | |

| The final stop on a Sawtooth-Needham-Rainbow-Florence dayhike out of Mineral King. (Traversed from Needham to Rainbow via Needham's SW Slope, Lakes 10,479 and 10,569, and up Rainbow's SE Slopes--a nice hike with easy solid granite ledges/boulders on the way up to Rainbow). Hazy views due to the ever present cloud cover that day. The SW Slopes had some nice scrambling, with a bit of third class in places. | |
