Forbidden Peak from Sahale Arm. Note the view into the snow gully that provides access to Forbidden's west ridge. July 2000. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Eric Sandbo | W Ridge | |
Voted 10/10 | This ought to be attached to the W Ridge route, also. There are so few vantage points that allow you to see into the snow gully.
It's rough having to be out in the mountains on a day this isn't it? I bet you really wanted to be in the basement of a parking garage or something.

Hasn't voted | Hey Eric,
Now I'm confused. I always believed that the west ridge route involved the entire ridge all the way to snow gully next to Mt. Torment, as shown in this photo. Am I wrong, or are you talking about a different route in which this gully is climbed? :-)
You're so right...what's that old saying to the effect that any day in the office is better than a sunny day in the mountains? ;-)

Voted 10/10 | The couloir shown in this photo is the correct access and descent route for the W Ridge climb. Nice photo of Torment (your other photo).
