Stunning scenery.

I think I mentioned this to you before. But I had a pal who lived there for several years and never ONCE went hiking. He would see the Chugach Mountains from his front yard every day and never felt the urge to hike them. I'll never understand that kind of mind set.

Re: Stunning scenery.

It's funny how that goes, Bob. Last week I stayed with a farmer on the east coast of Iceland. Fit, curious, engaged, has quite a bit of free time ... but when I asked about climbing the hill behind his house, he had to give me vague secondhand info about the path. He'd never been up. And he owns it.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Stunning scenery.

Bizarre!

Similarly, I had to help one of my wife's uncles with some heavy work. You could see a mountain behind his house. I asked him what it was named...he had absolutely no idea and apparently had never noticed it until I pointed it out.
