I think that it's worth pointing out that Fort Windham Rocks is the true summit of Carson Mountain. Another route to Fort Windham Rocks is to hike into the park from the end of Route 610. It's a 4.2 mile round trip, with an elevation gain of about 550 feet. Most of the hike is on the Appalachian Trail.
