Nice mountain! We did NW Ridge with snow and ice at all way. Maybe we did not find all Fixed ropes and movement was slower (somewhere over 1 m snow). Two swiss guys will not so successful next day. But was very nice weather and we enjoyed it!

Fruendenhorn normal route
We did the normal route up and down. Not very difficult, but quite exposed and serious terrain.

My first alpine peak!
This was my first alpine ascent, with a guide, at the tender age of 12!
The big snow field was all ice - quite a scary first experience on crampons!
Route Climbed: NW Ridge Date Climbed: July 13, 2003
We (DAV Lahr) had a great climb under ideal conditions. Drove from Germany to Kandersteg on Saturday, climbed to the hut, ate and slept. Next morning, awesome climb on rock and snow, then back to the hut for lunch and the hike back to Kandersteg. Drove home to Germany that evening. Perfect. Wonderful mountain, even if it isn't the highest in the area!

Route Climbed: SW-ridge Date Climbed: 30. Juni 2001I've done the climb with other members of the DAV section Tuttlingen. It was a great day. The overhanging crux is demanding.

Route Climbed: Southwest Ridge Date Climbed: 31 July 2001Climbed with Dres Schild. A beautiful warm day and a great climb. The rock climbing is quite sustained and the overhang is challenging.
