Fred Spicker chopping away at the cornice just below the summit of Stevens Peak. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Sharon | Exotic-- esp. for Idaho! | |
Voted 10/10 | Exotic pic-- it looks like Fred is fighting his way up a big Alaskan peak, rather than 'lil 'ol Stevens! | | Posted Apr 1, 2004 11:57 pm |

Hasn't voted | Hi Sharon. Thanks for the vote. That little cornice made the trip. It's nice to have an interesting conclusion to the summit adventure.
Cheers,

Hasn't voted | Ok, here is my confession for the day. Fred saw me trying to get a good picture of him swinging away at the cornice, so he held his axe there for a second.
Didn't bring or need a rope, nothing steeper than about 35+ degrees, with the exception of the cornice. | | Posted Apr 2, 2004 3:40 pm |

Voted 10/10 | of another climber, beside myself, who still uses straight-shaft ice-axe. I don't feel so left behind now.
