Route Climbed: Via the shoulder of Jobs Peak and Jobs Sister Date Climbed: July 25, 2003
Drove to the end of a FS off State Route 89. Followed the trail at the end of the road until it disappeared. Continued angling up and north and finally reached the shoulder of Jobs Peak. Hiked down to the saddle between Jobs Sisters and Jobs and then on up to the summit. After a snack, hiked over to Freel where I met two women having a martini who had come up the regular route. Headed back toward Jobs Sister and went down the gully at the saddle between the two peaks. There are bits of not heavily used trail at the bottom of the canyon that appear and disappear. Left the trail for good when I came upon a rather large bear ripping up a log and eating the stuff inside. Luckily he never noticed me. Just under 6 hours round trip, including about 45 minutes on Freel chatting.
"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."
