| Hiked up South Halfmoon Creek, over a few inches of packed snow. South slopes above treeline were completely clear. We left the road early and bushwacked through the willows, then up the easy South slope. | The river crossings were high and wet. The scree slope to the Casco/Frasco saddle was nasty. The traverse to French somewhat fun. All said it was a great outing. Also climbed Casco on this trip. | |

| The valley looked golden due to the willows changing colors. This was a very nice hike filled with solitude (no one all day). Highly recommended. | |

| Lovely approach from the west. Summited Casco Peak first. Fun ridge traverse from Casco to Frasco, quick and easy after there. Bombarded by hail on the return. A large church group from Texas climbed French Mtn earlier in the summer - I think they came up from the east side, which is shorter and easier. | |
