Friction climbing in a...

Friction climbing in a snowstorm -- what could be better than that?! It doesn't really show in the photo but there was so much snow that had accumulated by the end of the day I thought I would have to glissade down. This is the start of the 5.6 middle route, just to the left of the polished area. This is actually a really fun place to try stuff when the weather turns foul. Bring extremely long slings to get the TR out and over the lip of the climbs. You can walk up to the top where the TR bolts are by going up the right side low-angle friction. It certainly was, but the really amazing thing is that seven days prior I hiked up Clouds Rest from Tanaya Lake in nothing but shorts and a tank top -- and I was still overheating. Slight change in weather... I was afraid they were going to require tire chains.
