From Porcupine Pass

From Porcupine Pass
The view from Porcupine Pass of Oweep Basin in the greater Lakefork Drainage is truly one of the gems of the Uintas, if not the Rockies. Treeline here is about 11,500 feet and almost three miles from where I am standing. Starting in the middle of the horizon and working to the right, the mountains are Cleveland Peak, Squaw Peak and Explorer Peak (poking out above the reddish ridge). These three mountains are just about 10 miles away. Sep 2003. Fuji Velvia.

Note - the pinpoint location on the map is Porcupine Pass.

My thanks to Joe Bullough for his pics I referenced in hopes to make the above commentary accurate.
