Red Canyon  Sucess!

Lots of dirty climbing potential along the red canyon trail. There’s still water at the waterfall before the wilderness sign.

final peak of the trip  Sucess!

I wanted to do one last hike before heading back to the east coast after doing Baldy the day before in AZ and this looked like a good afternoon. Two hours and twenty minutes to the summit from Box Canyon, which needed some trail maintenance so I heaved a lot of stuff off the trail on the way down. At some point in time I’ll have to hike the Crest Trail from end to end because it’s a great trail.

Peako de Gallo  Sucess!

Peak two of two, with Peak 10,057 first. Well maintained trail to the crest, then a faint trail to Peak 10,057. The trail to Gallo is harder to find after a short while, but the summit isn't hard to get to.

Red Canyon Trail  Sucess!

Got a late start on the hike, and I was planning on linking this with Manzano Peak, but ran out of time. Nice little hike though.

via Red Canyon  Sucess!

Nice day until the storms rolled in. Still a few patches of snow near the top from a storm a week ago.

Route Climbed: Red Canyon Trail Date Climbed: August 2, 2005  Sucess!

A beautiful day with just enough clouds to provide shade. The last thrust on the ridge coming from the south was quite an adventure.
