Gasherbrum III 7952m. Early...

Gasherbrum III 7952m. Early in the morning and seen from Camp 1 at 5950m. Still two vertical km to go. The route goes up the snow and ice wall at roughly 60 degrees, to the ridge and then further up. You may even be able to see three climbers just below the horisontal crevasse and one on the wall 200 vert. m higher up. On the right the foot of the "Carsolio Face" on Gasherbrum II (8032m).

Thanks john!

I think it gives the viewer a pretty good idea about the proportions on a huge peak like G III. That is of course if you can find those small, small dots/the climbers in the photo.

Re: Wow

Thanks Global.
Pakistan is wonderful.
What I personally like with this photo is the size of the climbers in the shot. You really get a feel for how huge the surroundings are.

Re: Wow

Agreed - gives a sense of scale that is often lacking amongst such huge peaks.
