Getting ready for the final section

... of the Schwerteck south ridge. Not particularly steep, but rather exposed, especially on the west side, and pretty rotton rock. Even big rocks were wobbly. Since yesterday had been a very long day, we were not quite as good on our game, and I would really rather have had a solid ridge instead.

Well, it wasn't.

We didn't quite make it to the summit. A few minutes out on the ridge, and Jannie fell - to the east, fortunately, not quite as steep as the western side. On either side, Hermann and Paul held the rope taught, so she didn't fall more than a few meters. After that scare, we decided to return. Bad rock, still feeling yesterday's exertions, and, most importantly, a fall that could have gone a lot worse - we decided to take the easiest route down, and returned to where we came from.
