Live and Learn,You were lucky there were three of you. I got stuck here, on the same road, 2 a.m. all by myself. A mistake I never repeated again.

Re: Live and Learn,I cleared out two tracks for the wheels going back down the hill for a few feet just enough to park the car by the side of the road.
Then, I put on my snow shoes and started hiking. I hiked up the trail following another set of snowshoe prints till 5 a.m.
To make a long story short, when I returned two days later I ran into a group of a dozen Sierra Club people hiking up the road. They helped push the car back down the hill till I was able to turn around and drive down. Crazy trip!
BTW, I did run into the guy with the snowshoe prints. We ended up going to the White Mountains area together. Didn't make any summits.
