Nice walk up
Great ascent during the perfect weather by the standard route from Zakopane. It was a warm-up climb for the climbing week in winter Tatras. Great view from the summit. The snow conditions seemed to be a bit unstable on the burning sun, so we have hurried down.

Zakopane noises...
My first winter Giewont ascent (via Kondratowa, descent along red route). On a summit I was surprised by discoteque noises from Zakopane :(

We were on the school trip and didn't want to waste the time in the city ( Zakopane ) so three of us climbed the mountain. Unfortunately our teacher gave us only 5h time so we could not climb Kopa Kondratowa. Weather was great.

After the first ascent I promised myself never to summit Giewont any more. 14 years later I broke the promise.
Fair weather but fantastic day at all.

Route Climbed: From Kopa Kondracka in Czerwone Wierchy Ridge Date Climbed: 9 August 1996
My first real mountain trip in Tatras ...great weather ,high season so trails in this popular area a bit ...overcrowded ,waiting for a half an hour to ascent the summit on the pass below ,descent to Strazyska Valley .
The route at the parking lot Polana Gonsienicow/Potok started. On that marked away (yellow) 45 min up to "Wielka Polana" then approx. 100 min to "Kondracka Przelecz".
The blue path up to summit (25 min) catches descent off here recommends I the red path (140 min)

Though it is rather an easy tourist climb ,watch out for exposed and very slippery last rocky meters under the summit !
