Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument
Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, Gila National Forest, New Mexico. These caves, 180 feet above the floor of Cliff Dweller Canyon, house the dwellings built by the Mogollon people in the 1270s and 1280s. Approximately 40 rooms were built inside the six caves that comprise the dwellings. The Mogollons left the area by 1300. Photo taken 6/23/07.
