Snow at ~6,000 ft  Sucess!

A winter wonderland towards the top of 4 mile trail, big fat snowflakes just above 6000 ft. It was May! Wish I had brought some gloves.

fun hike!  Sucess!

Hiked the 4 mile trail with my girlfriend, a very casual afternoon outing. Ice cream at the top kept her cruising strong! Great way to stretch the legs after barely being able to walk from a back injury.

Great Views  Sucess!

Drove up to Glacier Point and took the Panorama Trail down to the valley. Being someone who has never been out west untill then, I would say this was the most enjoyable hike in my life (so far. Even got to see a black bear.

Four Mile Trail + Panorama Trail   Sucess!

Hiked up from Four Mile Trail and down to the Valley via Panorama Trail. An awesome hike with nice weather*; in fact, my favorite day hike starting from the Valley.

*Nice sun, nice clouds, some thunder & lightening, and some rain after we got on Panorama Trail from Glacier Pt, heading down to the Valley(we were lucky the rain did not start until we left GP). Fun walking in the rain & everything just seemed especially clean and refreshing. I really loved and enjoyed this hike.

Pizza and Beer  Sucess!

I didn't technically climb this but I have an interesting note. My wife and I drove up here after climbing Half Dome to watch the sunset with some pizza and beer. Since there was a ranger at the overlook, we quietly snuck down below the overlook, in the bushes, to watch the fading light on Half Dome while enjoying our food and Half-weizen (as they called it). It was very fun.

Does driving up count?  Sucess!

Beautiful views. It's really cool how you can see the difference between a U-shaped glacial valley and a V-shaped river valley.

Four Mile Trail  Sucess!

I had a day off while on a business trip that placed me in Merced and decided to use the day as an excuse to personnally pick up a permit for my uncoming Mt. Star King climb. The rangers at the wilderness center would too busy to provide me one until after noon, so looking for something do to decided on the 4 Mile trail as it was the only trail I had not hiked out of the valley.
I had never considered the idea before because of the road leading to point and the tourist crowd.
Well I am very gald I did this round trip hike. It was extremely enjoyable and saw only about 5 people until, you guested it, I got within about a quarter mile of Glacier point. At the point proper there were perhaps 500 people. No matter I enjoyed the view, hiked back down then went a picked up my permit.
I highly recommend this trail.

4 mile trail  Sucess!

Also in '97 and 2002. The view is better if you earn it!

Panorama Trail  Sucess!

It is a pretty hike and I was almost alone except for the Vernal Falls area. This was one of the hikes I did while there for a cousin's wedding.
