Glacier with a bite

Glacier with a bite

An ice cave at Cotopaxi glacier's edge, right next to the trail. On the ascent, this is passed in the dark, or at best with moonlight. I was having a look early afternoon - and got lucky with the weather. 21 December 2010.

Re: Yes

When the weather was good, the pics turned out good. Unfortunately, that didn't happen all that often. Lots of fresh snow and poor weather meant many failed and aborted attempts, on Cotopaxi as well as other mountains. Various Ecuadorian TR's, albums and summit logs testify to that. Even on Iliniza Norte, people were thwarted by too much snow!

Re: Yes

yes of course I agree. Anyway this route it is harder that the other one that I climbed :). In 2009 when I was there Illiniza Norte didnt had any snow and on Sur the glaciar just a few...
