A bit of a slog - but worth it
Great hike in - tough going over the ridge and dropping down again - then pretty straightforward climb to the top. The toughest part is reclaiming the ridge on the way back with loose scree (2 steps up and then 1 back!) - a long day for sure.
Worth the slog, 6 hours up and 5 hours back.
Approached from West Pass Creek. This is probably the more enjoyable route to the summit, only problem is the distance to drive to get to that side of the trailhead. Only people I saw were some hunters who said it was possible to hit 11458 from the north ridge off Glassford. Maybe another day.

Great Views
Our long, tedious approach from the North Fork of Big Wood was rewarded with great views of all the nearby ranges.

South Glassford to Glassford
Climbed South Glassford on the way in, which is the route described in the (THE) guidebook. From there, the connecting ridge was a little tricker than I expected- passable, but certainly not class2. On the way back from Glassford I took the direct route to N.Fork Big Wood described on this page. My entry route was completely dry but the basin SE of Glassford was mostly snow. Ice ax was a needed brake while buttsliding down and crampons were used to get out. I left a medium-weight register on Glassford.
This peak is a nice notch in your belt since it's staring you down on 75 anywhere near Ketchum, but to be honest I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a fun climb. It's a lot of work and once you leave the trail there isn't much desirable terrain.

rotten rock
I hiked up this from the North Fork Wood River. There is a lot of rotten rock on this mountain that makes for less than pleasant hiking. I took the ridge from South Glassford Peak over to the main summit which I would not really recommend due to loose rock. Probably more fun when there is some snow covering the rock
