Super Dave

Great peak in a great area. Climbed the east ridge from Ten Lake Basin during an excellent backpacking trip. Tried to stay true to the ridge, but had to retreat to the south face because of some exposed Class 4 I didn’t want to tackle since I was solo. Trip Report

Camped at Ardeth and had a whole day to summit Glens and explore in Ten Lakes Basin. Quite a treat for a kid from the Washington Cascades. No summit register found, just old rusted cans.

Art and I climbed the SE ridge from the Flytrip basin and descended the west ridge per the Lopez guidebook. Huge blocks on the way up, but never over Class 3.

I did Glens Peak as park of a Scout backpacking trip from Atlanta to Redfish this past week. The area is incredible and the peak is easy if you're in the neighborhood. It really is quite remote but is an excellent side trip for a backpacking trip in the area. I did it via the west ridge from the pass above Spangle Lakes. GREAT view!

Took a big chance and thought the ridgeline above Toxaway would allow access to the Glens Peak East Ridge. Luckily it worked out and I was able to do this in a day. Still at 21 miles 6100 feet, it's a long day. The lakes near Glens are spectacular!
