| Great route up Alexander Basin, very scenic this time of year, probably the preferred summer route. Shady most of the way and northeast facing | ||

| Did this hike via Bowman fork in Millcreek. What a great trail! Even on a Saturday morning I saw only one other hiker the entire trip. Gobblers Knob is a great, easy summit... However, I prefer it's neighbor, Mount Raymond, because it is more fun to climb. | ||

| I climbed Gobblers Knob with Scott (climb14ers) after climbing Mount Raymond. The weather was nice and there weren't many people out hiking. Good trail and great view from the summit. | ||

| This was a quite long hike, totalling about 7 to 8 hours for me. The trail went through forest and land filled with so much wildflowers for anyone who loves to try and guess what they are called. At Baker's Pass, I was surprised to see a lone Sego Lily out of nowhere. | ||

| I have been on this peak three times. The first and third, I took the conventional Alexander Basin route and the second time to add a new twist I climbed directly up to the ridge west of the meadow and followed the ridge south to the summit. Attaining the ridge was some of the steepest hiking I have done without a trail on dirt and somewhat loose rock. The third time I did this in late Fall of '04 we continued on to Mt. Raymond, decending at Baker Pass and the Baker Spring trail loop back to the Alexander Basin trail. Lots of elevation gained and lost on this one. The fall colors were electrifying and the temperature very pleasent. | ||

| I climbed this with Joe Bullough last Saturday, heading up a steep ridge I dubbed Soleus Ridge due to the excessive strain the hill put on our calves. My inclinometer measures much of the ridge to be 40 degrees steep. After summiting on fine styrofoam snow, we continued over to Mt Raymond and back down to Butler Fork in time for me to catch a Sundance Movie - all in all a perfect day. | ||

| My favorite trip is to go up Bowman in the spring, then glissade down Alexander's, then take the cutoff trail back to Bowman...The ridge to Dog Lake isn't bad either... | ||

| Added an extra 5+ miles to the hike by not realizing beforehand that the gate to the trailhead is closed until July 1st. Had to find our own route as the trail became covered in snow. Very green and flowers all around. Cool view of Mt. Raymond from the top. Took the loop back down. | ||
