Gone With The Flake
Leading the crux of Gone With The Flake on Smith's Red Wall. I thought it was a hard pitch for 5.9 - you either undercling & lieback the flake, a moderate proposition but one where protection becomes very difficult to place OR you try to climb it as an OW....high angle OW. Long range view is here. By the way, this flake reminds me of The Ear on Primrose Dihedrals...though two number grades easier. The bolted face directly below me is Sole Survivor 5.11b sport (Sept. 2007).
