My dawg pack has got my back at the saddle below the summit of Volz Benchmark. Left to right: Bing, Lady, Stimpy and Lela. Some of the best friends a woman could ever have. 14 June 2009 Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Marcsoltan | Dogs, dogs... | |

Yeah, we love our pups. We just put one down at age 17. (Had the vet make a house call...) We also have 2 cats. Currently no horses, but we haven't had horses for a few years now and the husband is getting the itch for a few more equines. (Give me strenth...)
We take in homeless critters from shelters and rescue organizations. It's a very fulfilling labor of love.
We've got 5 acres in the woods at home, and 2 acres at the cabin. The dogs have plenty of space, but they prefer hanging out with their humans most of all.
Cheers!

Those dogs ARE so very happy when hiking. Even the old one (White German Shepherd, 2nd from left) still loves to hike, even if she's a bit gimpy afterwards.
I hope you are having a fantastic climbing summer!

HA! You've never even met Lela and you've got her "dog personality" all figured out. This pretty much sums it up: "When we headn' back, I want my dawg biscuits." | | Posted Feb 8, 2010 11:46 am |

Voted 10/10 | Ahemm... As a kid, I once ate a dog biscuit for real. Tasted not bad, actually.
It was all the doc's fault. As I ate very small meals he told my Mom that I should take snacks !!
The doc never could figure me out. HaHaHa. | | Posted Feb 8, 2010 12:09 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the note. Yeah, our dogs are awesome companions, but they sure are a handful. That, and you should see our bill at Pet$$$Mart...

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the note, Jack. And, I agree - I could not imagine a life without canine companions! Sadly, the White Shepherd in the center of the photo was laid to rest after an amazing 14 years of life on 24 August. Her boisterous love and enthusiasm is sorely missed in our household. :(
