south (Cave Canyon) route
Wasatch Mountain Club hike - led by byates. My first experience in this range and hopefully not the last.

High ROI
For a fairly easy climb, the views are A+. I was surprised how much more easy/pleasant this was than many other similar elevation West Desert peaks in that 1) practically no loose scree to deal with and 2) no cheat-grass (and hence no evil seeds to gradually work into your shoes...) Previous register entry was November '15. Can't believe I never checked out this range before- convenient to the Wasatch Front and a real delight. Hope to return again before summer to visit Campbell and Jenkins.
FYI, the 4WD access to the TH (either Greg's or Eric's) is really deteriorating- hit the skid plates twice in my 4Runner. Mtn bike might be less hassle, and certainly faster on the way out.

Spring Ascent
Very nice cloudy spring day. A little windy at times, but overall great hike. Climbed via the standard Campbell Canyon route listed and descended 2 ridges to the south of the route up. The ridge at the top was very fun little ridge-line "scramble" from the false peak to the north over to the actual peak. I'm pretty sure you could manage to class 1 all the way to the top or you could pick a few more challenging routes. The views were outstanding. Pilot peak is gorgeous this time of year. Desert Peak looks like a fun one. Will have get over to the Newfoundlands soon.
FYI: The survey benchmarker on the top was placed in 1940 and says "Silver."

Rugged and Remote
10/25/2013 Great hike. I came up the canyon that deposits you just to the south of the summit. From the ridge it was a quick scramble on class three to the summit. From the top I traversed over to the peak a quarter mile to the north, point 7,510. I descended back the way I came. To say this area is rugged and remote is a major understatement. Unbelievable views in all directions.

Nice Hike
Took the canyon south of Campbell Canyon to get to the top. No one else in site. Solitude is found in the Silver Islands. A rugged little mountain range indeed. Took the north ridge down then through the pass right after the false peak to the canyon floor. It was a nice way to get down, because it offered a chance to explore some of the "caves" that are viewed from the bottom.

Nice views of Pilot Peak
Climbed via Campbell Canyon. A pretty boring route, although I have since heard that approaches from the east side are much more challenging. Excellent views of Pilot Peak and Desert Peak

Repeat
Very enjoyable repeat of this neat peak in the Silver Island range. I "guided" a friend from Seattle to the top and while thunderstorms built all around us, we had a great half hour before we decided to get the heck off the top before the thunderstorms moved our direction. I really enjoy this area.
I did find a tick on me after the hike but got the d... thing before it could make a meal out of me. I didn't expect to find ticks out there but be aware.

Campbell Canyon
Camped overnight with tons of stars in the sky. Watched two F-16s do a banking maneuver around the peak while I was ascending (missed the photo.) It reached at least 80 degrees which made the descent punishing hot with no shade. The volcanic rock is very sharp. Would not recommend it for young kids, but good hikers should have a blast. Just attempt it on a cool day. I made the mistake of not driving close enough which added another mile round-trip to my hike, which I regretted while coming down in the heavy heat.

Great Hike
Great hike, I really enjoyed this one, Cold to start out and the wind was blowing, but all in all it was awesome. I followed the exact same route that kadee took, I was only a few feet in back of her. but I didn't want to get lost. Little bit rough on top and hard on the shoes but I loved it.

Hiked with Mike. Followed Greg's route up but also took the ridge to the South down, where I saw Eric's foot prints. I think the route that Greg describes is much easier for going up and wouldn't have liked to go up the ridge that I came down. I have done a few other peaks in the Silver Islands and always enjoy the hikes in this range.

That is the approximate date of my first climb, I suspect I've done it about 7-8 times by now one time from the north, one from Silver Island canyon, the rest via Cave Canyon. one of my favorite early spring or late fall areas.

Came in from NW.
Following the excellent description provided here (see route page), we made the summit in around three hours and then two hours down (or less) down. Nothing harder than class two and the last bit of the ridge was the best part. We camped down below on a good flat spot. This is an intersting range. Four of us did this mountain today, Andy Martin, Mark Nichols, Richard Joseph and myself. The other three are all from the Tucson AZ area.

Ridge Traverse/South slope
Beautiful, rugged traverse from Lamus Peak to Graham Peak. 14 hours roundtrip. Sun almost stopped me dead in my tracks just below the summit of Graham...stupid heatwave! Interesting rock formations(arches, spires, pockets.) Greg, you were the last person to sign the register, one whole year ago! Solitude is assured in this mountain range.
