I climb from St. Amarin town with my wife, reaching the summit at 13h30. After some recovery of energy we continue to the ski
station "Markstein" where we finish the hike with the fog already threatening.

When the cloudsee covers the Alsatian plain, the summit of the Grand Ballon in the autumn sun looks like a paradise... and the view of the swiss Alps is fascinating.

SnowcapFrom the distance it looks like al volcano when the summit is covered in snow. I went up with my wife during a nice autumn trekking in the Vosges.
