| 2 friends and I hiked down to Indian Gardens, spent the night then hiked to the river and back out the next day. I remember playing my harmonica along the trail and being blown away by the sound echoing off the canyon walls. | ||

| Down South Kaibab to the Colorado and up Bright Angel. Nice, strenuous dayhike. However, wasn't overly impressed with the Grand Canyon itself- slot canyons are way more fun and pretty. | ||

| RhythmicMom | Bald Eagle!! ![]() | |
| Been here twice so far, I'm sure I'll be back for more challenge some day! Best part of the first trip was the BIG bald eagle who flew right above my head as I was sitting to rest on a ledge. Unfortunately, too slow to get my camera out to catch it close-up!... Should go back to photograph these amazing big birds! | ||

| Hiked down to tanner beach and then day hiked to mouth of the little Colorado and back. Longest 20 miles of my life! Very hot in that region but little c is a great place to spend a day. Also have hiked to plateau point several times. I am addicted. Always thinking about returning. | ||

| I grew up not far from the Grand. I've been there many times. My best memory was when I got to do a 18-day kayak trip down it. | ||

| Did the North Kaibab trail down to the river and back up at night. One hell of a day hike with my brother. I loved it so much that i must go back soon! It was 106 degrees at the river, but the water was FREEZING! Such a nice refreshing dip it was. | ||

| I came through on the Arizona Trail (Rim to rim- North Kaibab to Bright Angel). What a beautiful place to behold. I'd definitely come back. Amazing to see the sunrise and sunset on the Grand Canyon in one day. :) | ||

| silversummit | 1966 and 2000 | |
| We were there in the heat of summer both times and no one would hike with me below the rim. I am determined to get back and do a hike down to the bottom and back up. While I was there in 2000 I did several short nature walks and exploratory hikes in the early morn and late evening and wish I taken more pictures. | ||

| Bryan W | Phantom Ranch ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 20, 2010 | |
| Hiked the Bright Angel trail to the Phantom Ranch. It was an epic day hiking with my almost 69 year old father. My brothers and I got him there, but we paid the price by being on the trail about 5 hours too long. As a result we got caught in a 10-15 minute hail storm with hail as big as marbles. It wasn't fun to say the least. We got him out of there in a little over an hour of the time that it took to get down. Having climbed enough mountains, I can say that the GC from the Bright Angel trail is far easier than any mountain I have ever done. | ||

| WhiteInVermont | North Rim to Bright Angel ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 12, 2010 | |
| Started at the North Rim and made the way down to Bright Angel Campground 14.2 miles away at the Colorado River. My group of 3 was lucky to get the last minute permits for the campgrounds. One night was spent at Bright Angel and another night at Cottonwood Campground about half way back to the North Rim. | ||

| Deb | Royal Arch Loop ![]() Date Climbed: Oct 9, 2010 | |
| 4 days in the Canyon with perfect weather (maybe a bit too warm on the long slogs). Checked out the Royal Arch and Elves Chasm - very cool indeed. Rather enjoyed all the scrambling and wetness but not the 3-layer blister I received on the way out. Insane! | ||
