Voted 10/10 | Do you means those ones caught in Orco Valley? I don't know if you had ever heard something about it, but it's a nice place - a very very little Yosemite - as a matter of fact the first climbers with a bit of humour gave to the crags some names like Caporal and Sergent...ehe ehe. The rock's structure here is particulary suitable for trad climbing. During the month of September my Club since 2010 organizes an International Trad Climbing Meet to encorauge the young people towards the trad climb. I had climbed also with some people from USA two years ago, while this last september i rope up with some Norwegian climbers. It's really a nice meet. Now there's a bad trend here, the disposition toward the full equipped routes and indoor climbing is very high here in Europe - excepted the UK and Scandinavia - so we try to propagandize the trad climb among the young people!
Thanks for your visit and vote, Marc.
My best greetings.

Hasn't voted | Actually, I was talking about your latest page on Vierge del Aroletta in Aosta Valley. But, Orco Valley sounds interesting as well. May be it's time for an article on Orco Valley trad climbing.

Voted 10/10 | Marc,
That is a great photo. When did you take that, if I may ask?
I was there climbing in late Sep(22-23rd) and it was still pretty smokey. :( | | Posted Oct 10, 2012 12:01 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the compliment Tim. My wife and I were there around the 12-16 of September hiking and playing tourists.
There was a forest fire very close to Jackson Hole and some residents were evacuated. Actually, I think the smoke gave the sunrise even a richer color than it would have had without it. | | Posted Oct 10, 2012 12:35 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks a lot zodis. I got very lucky with those fast moving clouds. And, the sun came out just at the right time before it rained for the next few hours. | | Posted Oct 11, 2012 10:22 am |
| Nyle Walton | Where's the snow? | |
Hasn't voted | The Grand Teton in this photo is almost bare of snow compared to the amount it had when I climbed it 62 years ago. | | Posted Oct 11, 2012 10:42 am |

Hasn't voted | Good question! But, isn't that the case with most of the mountains on earth? | | Posted Oct 11, 2012 11:37 am |
