Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve - July 27, 2008 - View of High Dune after a rain the night before; darker colors are areas of sand that are wet and drying out. If you enlarge this photo you will see people at various points of the climb up. The wet sand enabled us to get up High Dune in a little over an hour with very little slippage.

I didn't know the size (scale) of this
particular dune until now!

I love the "flowing effect" of these dunes,
and I have (yet) to see them in person!!!
