| Matthew Holliman | Last peak of the day ![]() Date Climbed: May 21, 2007 | |
| Final peak on an unexpectedly scenic and enjoyable dayhike around the North Loop and South Loop trails, tagging Fletcher, Mummy, Lee, Charleston, and this en route. It would have been nice to continue on to Harris, but I had no exit strategy besides slogging back along the road to my car, so I decided that would have to wait for another time. | ||

| Tracy | Start 'em YOUNG! Route climbed: Harris Springs Trail ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 8, 1993 | |
| I climbed this one with my sister, Amy; her husband, Michael Eschenberg; my 4-year, 9-month old son, Lance; and my 35-month old son, Travis; six days after their sister Jackie was born (Mom and Jackie stayed home). Lance hiked most of the way without help, but Michael helped me take turns carrying Travis when he got too tired to keep hiking on his own. We all made the summit. | ||

| cp0915's posting below is right on the mark - this is a terrific day hike! The view from Griffith Peak is one of the very best in the Spring Mountains, and the trip up and down is far less taxing than the Charleston Peak death march. | ||

| Skinned up both times w/ a splitboard and had awesome rides down! On the 17th we had some stiff wind and it gets me to want to break out the kiteboarding kite and see if I can make it from Griffith to Charleston Peak riding the wind! The log book is currently burried under over 20' of snow according to GPS. Word of caution, snow is melting quickly and we saw some rockfall, so be carefull of flying objects and enjoy the beauty Additional trip reports can be found here: Mt. Charleston Backcountry Group Have fun, Don | ||

| We had hoped to replicate my brother's truly heroic ascent of Charleston Peak the previous 4th of July, but we were forced to settle for Griffith Peak instead. No matter - we were cashed, the views were wonderful, and this fine peak gave us a real sense of accomplishment. | ||

| A very nice half-day hike. The South Loop Trail is exceptionally scenic and the summit views are considerable... Mt. Charleston and Mummy Mountain to the north, the Sheep Range and Gass Peak to the northeast, Muddy Peak, Lake Mead and Frenchman Mountain, oh, and Las Vegas to the ESE, Black Mountain, Mt. Potosi and Red Rock to the south, and Telescope Peak to the west. Nice! | ||
